The Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showman and Boater (GTRSB) Pledge for schools

The Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showman and Boater (GTRSB) Pledge for schools is a way that schools can show their commitment to families from these different communities by taking steps to help improve access, retention and outcomes in education for GTRSB pupils. By taking the Pledge, schools commit to creating an environment where Gypsy, Traveller, Roma, Showman and Boater pupils are not only welcomed into school, but where they are celebrated, understood, nurtured and given the conditions where they can thrive personally and academically.

It contains elements such as creating and building a supportive environment for GTRSB pupils, outreach to and engagement with local GTRSB communities, data monitoring of GTRSB pupils and staff, including GTRSB culture and history in the curriculum and having a named contact person for GTRSB pupils, families and potential pupils.
