At Wolvey, our commitment is simple but profound: the safety, well-being, and education of every child in our care are our highest priorities. We firmly believe that a strong partnership between home and school is the key to success. By working together in a spirit of trust and collaboration, we can give children the best possible start in life—equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Our team of passionate and dedicated staff share this vision. They work tirelessly to create an engaging and challenging curriculum that ensures children not only develop academically but also grow as confident, independent thinkers. Learning at Wolvey is about more than just acquiring knowledge; it is about fostering curiosity, resilience, and a love for discovery. Through our carefully structured curriculum, we ensure that children build upon their knowledge year by year, developing a deep understanding of key concepts that will serve them well beyond their time at primary school.
Our Values and Ethos
As a Church of England school, our values are deeply rooted in Christian teachings, providing a strong foundation for everything we do.
However, we embrace inclusivity, respect, and tolerance, ensuring that our school is a welcoming place for children and families from all backgrounds. We take pride in our ability to nurture not only academic achievement but also kindness, compassion, and social responsibility.
At Wolvey, we believe in the power of community. A school is more than just a place of learning—it is a family. Every child, parent, and staff member is valued, and we are committed to maintaining an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. We recognise that, as human beings, we may not always get everything right, but we are always open to learning and growing. We appreciate constructive feedback and welcome conversations that help us continue to improve for the benefit of all our pupils.
Our Proud Gypsy and Traveller Community
One of the most unique and special aspects of Wolvey CofE Primary School is our close and positive relationship with our Gypsy and Traveller families.
We are immensely proud to educate over 80 children from the Traveller community, making up more than 25% of all Gypsy and Traveller pupils in Warwickshire. This makes our school a place of cultural richness, mutual learning, and deep respect for different traditions and ways of life.
For us, education is about breaking down barriers and fostering understanding. Our strong partnerships with Gypsy and Traveller families have created a school environment where all children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. We firmly believe that education provides children with enhanced life choices, vital skills for everyday life, and the confidence to pursue their ambitions.
At Wolvey, our welcoming and encouraging approach has led to significant improvements in attendance and academic progress for our Gypsy and Traveller children. We understand that traditional educational settings have not always met the needs of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities, which is why we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels safe, respected, and excited to learn. Our school is a place where both Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children and non-Gypsy, Roma and Traveller children develop an appreciation for cultural diversity, leading to greater acceptance and understanding.
A Family-Oriented School
We are incredibly fortunate to have a strong sense of community within our school.
Many of our pupils have siblings and cousins learning alongside them, creating a family-like atmosphere where children support one another, play together, and share in each other’s successes. This sense of belonging is at the heart of our school ethos, fostering a warm and inclusive environment where all children feel at home.
In our most recent Ofsted inspection (July 2023), we were delighted to receive recognition for our pupils’ outstanding behaviour and attitudes. Our children love coming to school, and that passion for learning is evident in the way they engage with their lessons, their friendships, and the wider school community.
Early Years and Nursery Provision
We know that the foundations for a love of learning are laid in the earliest years of a child’s life. That is why our nursery provision welcomes children from the age of two, offering a nurturing and stimulating environment where they can begin their educational journey with confidence. Our Gypsy and Traveller families engage well with this provision, and our experienced staff work closely with parents to ensure that every child receives the best possible start. Through a combination of play, exploration, and structured learning, our youngest pupils develop the social, emotional, and cognitive skills they need to flourish as they move through school.
Looking to the Future
At Wolvey CofE Primary School, we believe that the future holds endless possibilities for our children.
We are not just preparing them for the next stage of education—we are equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and values they need to navigate the world with confidence and resilience. Our ambition is to provide them with an education that allows them to dream big, to aim high, and to develop the character needed to make a positive impact in their communities.
